Installing OS X on a generic Intel computer

I haven't confirmed this, but just FYI:

Cavemonkey50.com:

Within the last four hours a random 10.4.4 DVD patcher turned up on Usenet. Some OSx86ers caught onto this and started downloading it. After giving the shell scripts a thorough look-over, OSx86ers deemed this patcher legit.

...

Update: My installation succeeded, although I did have a few minor kext errors. With some quick minor repairs this installation will be up and running in no time.

Plan to charge for email won't solve the problem

AOL and Yahoo! are reported to be planning to start charging email senders for each email. They say this will reduce SPAM.

That's crazy.

It won't reduce the amount of SPAM one gets. It only reduces the amount of SPAM BLOCKING that the senders experience. The only way it reduces my SPAM is if I decide to only receive mail from the paying senders. And why would I want to block all the unpaid, legitimate emails I get?
